The Husson Humane Society is an organization dedicated
to the care of domestic animals both at the shelter and their forever home.
We provide quality care for homeless pets as well as educational
and veterinary services for our local community of Bangor, Maine.
We work with Bangor Humane Society to pick out friendly animals that we think would do well in our program. We then bring those animals back to our shelter, where they can spend time with students. Students fill out a simple form to check an animal for a designated amount of time, with a maximum time of 4 hours. We have a playroom available for students as well as collars, leashes, and doggy bags. If a student wants to spend more time with an animal, they can apply to have them overnight or foster them long term in their dorm. We have more information on fostering below. All animals are available for adoption by Husson students or anyone else.
Monday through Friday: 1pm-6pm
Saturday: 12pm - 6pm
Sunday: Closed
We only have dogs and cats available. Presently, we do not have any plans to take on other animal species. But this may change as our organisation grows and expands. You can see what animals we have available here.
